Scuba Diving in Cartagena

Take part in this enchanting adventure of scuba diving in Cartagena, near the island of Baru. An air-conditioned bus will pick you up from your lodging in Bocagrande or Laguito. For travelers staying elsewhere, the meeting point is at the statue of the Pegasus in front of the Clock Tower. The trip to the island of Baru lasts approximately one hour.

Once there, your instruct will prepare you for the dive. As you take the plunge, you’ll realize that scuba diving in Cartagena, Colombia is unlike anywhere else. It’ll be an explosion of colors as you descend beneath the surface.

The waters are so clear, you can tell each color of the coral reefs apart. The immense biodiversity of the marinelife will ensure that you interact with species that you hadn’t encountered before, warm temperatures will make the scuba diving even more enjoyable and pleasant. And with incredible photographic opportunities, you’ll be able to seize this day and save it forever.

around 12 o’clock you will enjoy a delicious Carribbean lunch. Afterwards, enjoy an afternoon of a relaxing swim in the sea, lounge under the beach umbrellas, or take a walk on the beach before we prepare for the return journey.

In detail

An air-conditioned bus will pick you up at your accommodation in the tourist area of Bocagrande or Laguito, those who do not stay in this area must head to the meeting point, the Pegasus statue, in front of the clock tower. the trip lasts approximately one hour to the island of baru.

The bus has to cross a bridge that has been built 12 years ago. After an hour of travel you will arrive at the island of Baru, where the adventure begins. In the restaurant where lunch will be served, you can wait for the instructor to contact you to start the activity.

The course consists of 30 minutes of theory, preparation and assembly of the equipment, 15 minutes of boat transport.

You will contemplate the underwater world, interact with a wide variety of species, explore coral reefs and discover what the depths of the sea can teach you. 1 hour of immersion on the reefs and 15 minutes back to the beach. At 12 o’clock or 12:30 you can enjoy a delicious typical lunch with options of fried fish, grilled chicken or vegetarian. accompanied by rice, salad and fried plantains.

After lunch you can enjoy an afternoon of a relaxing sea bath, breeze, sunshine and a beautiful view in a place of turquoise waters and white sand. You can take a walking tour of the beach and see the culture of native islanders (Don’t forget the name of the restaurant or any reference point, before the ride).

At 2:40 pm the guide is gonna let you know to be ready to take the bus back to the city at 3:00 pm. You will arrive to Cartagena at 4:30 pm depending on traffic as it is rush hour. They’ll leave you at the accommodation where you were picked up or at the meeting point.
